Raise your hand if you’ve ever dealt with worry and anxiety. You can’t see me, but I’ve got both hands in the air. I’ve felt anxious for as long as I can remember. Being anxious seems normal to me. But as I grew up, it really kept me from feeling, well, “normal.”91.3 KGLY East Texas Christian Radio Worrying about Your Worry Heard On Air Blog Featured Image

I was never happy with anything I accomplished. I just knew I could have done it better. I wanted to be the best I could. As I’m writing this blog, it’s occurred to me that what I’m saying sounds crazy!

Anxiety, worry, and tension start when we try and use our own strength to face our situations instead of leaning on God. This causes a flood of anxiety, worry, and tension. It drains our strength and can keep us from growing in the Lord.

God tells us over and over and over to trust Him. We can’t worry AND trust Him. Here are some verses that have helped me tremendously. I pray they bless you, too!

Luke 8:14

The seeds that were planted among thornbushes are people who hear the word, but as life goes on the worries, riches, and pleasures of life choke them. So they don’t produce anything good.”

Matthew 11:28

“Come to me, all who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest.”

Hebrews 13:19

“So we can see that they were not able to go into His rest because they did not put their trust in Him.”

Matthew 6:26

“Look at the birds in the sky. They do not plant seeds. They do not gather grain. They do not put grain into a building to keep. Yet your Father in heaven feeds them! Are you not more important than the birds”?

Psalm 46:10

“Be still and know that He is God.”

Philippians 4:6-7

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

I’m finally learning to give all my worry, anxiety, and tension to God. Please pray for me… that I can finally learn to cast all my burdens, crisis, sickness, and whatever is keeping me from totally relying on God – Because He cares for us. Deeply!
