At one time or another, you’ve undoubtedly found yourself in a situation where you took one look at it and thought, “There’s no way anything good can come from this!”

Romans 8:28 blatantly tells us “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose,” yet we still have trouble seeing beyond the situation. The next time that happens, don’t get discouraged. Instead, think about biscuits.

One Sunday morning at a small southern church, the new pastor called on one of his older deacons to lead in the opening prayer. The deacon stood up, bowed his head and said “Lord, I hate buttermilk.”

The pastor opened one eye and wondered where this was going.

The deacon continued, “Lord, I hate lard.”

By now the pastor was totally baffled and started to get nervous, but he stayed quiet.

The deacon keep going, “Lord, I ain’t too crazy about plain flour. But after you mix ’em all together and bake ’em in a hot oven, I just love biscuits. Lord, help us to realize when life gets hard, when things come up that we don’t like, whenever we don’t understand what You are doing, that we need to wait and see what You’re making. After You get through mixing and baking, it’ll be something even better than biscuits. Amen.”

How has God taken one of your bad situations, mixed it with His grace, and turned it into something wonderful? Please, share your story.
