Raking Leaf Fun

I don’t know about you, but I have a ton of trees around my house. It’s beautiful this time of year when the leaves all start changing color, but it’s also the time for those leaves to start falling. I suppose I could just get out there myself and rake them all up, but why not enlist my son and husband to help? We can certainly get it done faster together, and make it fun too. Here are some tips on how to combine work with bonding and create some fun memories with your kids in the process!

Jumping Pile

This one is a classic. Build one massive pile and let your kids run and jump. Safety tip: Make sure all sticks and sharp objects are removed. Getting impaled will reduce the amount of fun significantly.

Get Buried

Let one of your kids lay on the ground and pile the leaves on them until they are buried. Play a practical joke by having them jump out at unsuspecting family members or passersby.

Make A Maze

Rake the leaves into a maze for your kids to go through. We all want a beautiful lawn, but some things are more important. It may take time and the leaves may remain on your yard, but your kids will remember it forever.

Make It Rain

Take the leaves and throw them up in the air like confetti falling. This may be tiring, but it always ends with everyone lying on the ground laughing together. Is there anything better?

King/Queen of the Hill

Make raking a competition. Crown the kid that creates the biggest pile with a desirable prize. Making it a game will take out the monotony and replace it with energy.

It is a joy to labor for our Heavenly Father and to be with Him.

Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory… 1 Peter 1:8

1 Peter 1:8

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
