Pretty Easy to Make for Mom

French Toast



The idea of bringing mom breakfast in bed is such a sweet memory for child and mother. She doesn’t have to get up early or cook for anyone, and she gets to just relax. But what if your afraid that the thoughtful idea from the kiddos will turn into a horrible mess in the kitchen (and on the plate)? There are a few morning munchies that are easy to make and can turn out delicious for the mom in your life:

Ready-to-Bake Cinnamon Rolls

All you have to do is turn on the oven, put the rolls on a baking sheet, bake for a set amount of time, and then frost. Using the oven is a little scary for some kids, so Dad supervision is important. Also, one hopes it would occur to someone to use a timer so as not to burn the cinnamon rolls.


Fruit, Granola & Yogurt Parfait

All you have to do is scoop out some yogurt into a small glass or bowl, add some granola, and top with some berries. It’s better if the berries have been washed and the leaves are removed, but Mama’s not picky. Serve with a spoon, though.


Lox & Cream Cheese on a Bagel

Okay, so slicing open the bagel is dangerous, so you’ll probably want Dad to help out with this one. But once you cut that baby in half, just spread a nice, THICK layer of cream cheese and top with a few pieces of lox, which is a kind of cured salmon.



Donuts will definitely do. All you have to do is buy them, take them out of the bag or box, and put them on a plate.


Fruit Skewers

You don’t even have to use cute skewers. Even some cut-up fruit in a bowl with toothpicks on the side would work.


English Muffin Mini-Pizza

Just spread pizza sauce, top with grated mozzarella (or whatever cheese you can find), and toast in the toaster oven until the cheese is clearly melted. Ta-da!


Puff Pastry Chocolate Croissants

Are your kids ready for a challenge? Okay, this is the most advanced idea. You can make chocolate croissants using puff pastry. Just cut into triangles, place some chocolate chips on the dough, roll up, and bake in a 350-degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
