91.3 KGLY Late Afternoons
A new year gives us a new beginning, a clean slate.
If last year was not “your year,” you can start over and try again. But can we, really? I’ve tried year after year to better myself, only to be in the same place at the end of the year.
Maybe I was too ambitious. Maybe I was lazy. Maybe I didn’t seek the Lord and see what He had to say. I know this though: the meek, the humble, understand their need of God for everything and in everything. When we have humility and honesty, that leads to faith. So, this year I will pray for that humility and honesty, so that I can have a closer walk with my Savior. I do realize that it will not be not be easy, but with God’s guidance, anything is possible.
Owning up to our sins is the first step. Be transparent and ask God’s forgiveness. Jesus paid the price for our sins and we can come to Him for cleansing and healing. I’ve not always leaned on our Lord in every part of my life. Relying on ourselves just saps our power and also keeps us from the Lord.
“Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God. Let your good spirit lead me on level ground.” – Psalm 143:10
