91.3 KGLY Late Afternoons
I knew who Billy Graham was because I heard about him at church. But I really knew him when my family went to his crusade in Longview at Lobo Stadium October 17, 1971. I was 9 years old.
I will never forget it. As young as I was, I knew the Holy Spirit was there at the crusade. I felt it. I remember so many going down to accept Jesus at the end of the crusade. It was an amazing sight. Even though I was young, I knew he was a servant from God.
I’ve always felt that we had hope with Billy Graham in the world. That may seem odd to you, but the hope stems from our Father in Heaven, who spoke hope through him.
I am saddened, but I am grateful for his love of Jesus that he shared around the world. I know he is where he should be: with our Lord and Savior.
One of my favorite quotes from Billy Graham:
“The moment we take our last breath on earth, we take our first in heaven.”
Amen!
To God be the glory!
