Carrie Parsons 91.3 KGLY Late Afternoons
When someone takes a picture of me on their phone, they often want to show it to me. “Is this OK?” they say as they start to hand me the phone. “I’m sure it’s fine,” I say, putting my hand up in an effort to avoid seeing it.
The reason I do this is because when I do see it, I immediately see my flaws. I feel like it’s automatic. I can’t help but see every imperfection. The truth is, though, this isn’t how God sees me.
God thinks I’m beautiful. I’m beautiful to Him because of who I am to Him, I am His child. He loves me. In fact, He loves me so much that He sent his son Jesus to die for me. And for you too!
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son…”
John 3:16
The next time we see ourselves in a photo, let’s look through the lens of how God sees us. We can be so hard on ourselves! I pray that we can begin to know full well that we are wonderful works of God.
