I look forward for vacation time like a kid! Growing up, my parents would stuff all four of us kids in our station wagon, and we were off for three weeks! Good times!

Lately, my husband and I rent vacation rental homes on the Alabama beach! We enjoy being in the quieter Fort Morgan community. I have to admit that a vacation rental home features all the comforts of home, plus a few upgrades! Just remember that there are some things you should be sure to bring along with you since you may not find them in your vacation rental home. Here’s a list of items to remember to pack:

For the kitchen

• Condiments
• Spices
• Paper towels / napkins
• Ziploc bags
• Garbage bags
• Aluminum foil and plastic wrap
• Dishwashing detergent
• Coffee, sugar & creamer
• Coffee filters
• Salt & pepper and other spices
• Groceries
• Soap

For the bathroom

• Bath soap
• Shampoo / conditioner & other toiletries
• Tissues
• Toilet paper

For your dog:

• Towel for drying off
• Bottles of water and a bowl for beach outings
• Dog first aid kit
• Pick-up bags
• Leash
• Floating fetch toy
• Life jacket (if the water is rough or your dog is not an expert swimmer)
• Sunscreen (if your dog is light skinned or has short fur—look for baby-safe, PABA-free,

For the beach

• Bathing suits / cover-ups
• Beach equipment (toys, chairs, umbrella, beach blanket & cooler)
• Beach bag
• Books & magazines
• Sunscreen
• Sunglasses
• Beach/pool towels

General

• Laundry detergent
• All-purpose cleaner
• Camera / video recorder (don’t forget batteries)
