I was blessed to be close to my grandparents on both sides of my family. My grandmother would listen to me and that was wonderful. She would listen to what I said and I would listen to what they said. I felt so important and loved by my parents, but it was different…in a great way!
I think the more love surrounding our children, the better! God bless those grandparents who are supporting the family and teaching those kids to walk with God and being more Christ-like.
Now it makes sense that the Baby Boom has become the Grandparent Boom!
According to the latest census, there are more grandparents than ever before, 70 million according to the census.
In fact, that’s a 24 percent rise from 2001. That’s a number I just couldn’t believe – of all adults over the age of 30, more than 1 in 3 was a grandparent as of 2014!
Experts agree it’s better for everyone if there are more grandparents! The boomers who loved and paid attention to their children now do the same with their grandkids.
Young people who visit their grandparents, with few exceptions, do so because they want, often very badly, to be around their grandparents. It’s healthy.
Columnists Barbara Graham from Grandparents.com says, “My mother loved my son, but there was nothing like the level of attention and love my friends and I have for our grandchildren.”
Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their fathers. Proverbs 17:6
