Money tips. There are plenty. You’ve probably heard most of them. But for one reason or another, maybe you’ve just not been able to apply them.
Here’s a simple one. It’s not easy, but it’s simple. The best one. One your grandmother probably told you.
Give 10%, Save 10%.
Okay I just lost half of you, but for those who are curious enough to imagine, “It sounds so crazy, it just might work!” Congratulations. It does.
There are enough scriptures that reference giving to make the first half of the tip credible. Acts 20:35, 2 Corinthians 9:7, Malachi 3:10 come to mind, just to name a few. We know it is right and wise to give.
What about part two? According to statisticbrain.com, 36% of us don’t save ANYTHING for retirement. Zero. Benifitspro.com tells us that 60% of us WANT to retire, but the same amount fear they won’t be able to do it. Finally, a study by Lawyers.com revealed that, if we had it to do over again, 64% of us would have put more money into savings. Who wants to live with that regret?
Maybe 10% is a stretch for you. But we can all do something. Put $100 a month in savings. Start there. $100. Many of us could do that. Even that’s too much? Can you put $20 a week aside? That’s $1040 in a year before interest. You’ll thank yourself for it. Your kids just might thank you too!
It works. Do it. Baby steps. There’s no excuse for doing nothing. Don’t be like most Americans (64%), who wish they had.
There are many so resources to help if you’ll just reach out. Email me at [email protected]. I’ll be glad to direct you to some. Take the first step. You can do this!
