Life Unplugged

I was scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed the other day and found this picture that really hit home!

No Wifi

Well, I liked it immediately and commented, ‘Yes! LOL!’ But, then I got to thinking more about that. It’s not just the younger generation that’s glued to their phones and tablets, is it? I’m right there with them when we go out to a restaurant or coffee shop.

We better do something before THIS happens! ;)

Well, Randy Alcorn’s post the very next day chided me, “Are you, as a parent, being an example to your kids? Are you motivating the next generation to unplug the distractions and become passionate students of God’s Word?” How many times have I had to ask, “Hmmm?” not realizing my husband or one of my kids has asked me a question or had to rewind the show we’re watching together because my nose was in my smartphone or my laptop. My husband declared the living room – and the dining room table – phone free zones! Great idea! And, while we’re at it, let’s actually eat at the dinner table instead in front of the TV!

Let’s unplug from our gadgets, plug into LIFE and start a fire in our hearts for God!
